It’s hard to believe I haven’t posted a new story since February’s release of “Steven: A Love Story,” but as you may know, that’s because I’ve been giving a lot of my free time to longer projects. That said, it’s so satisfying to have an idea and make it happen, and be able to share it with you.
Today I’m happy to introduce my latest short story, “Danielle.” Danielle tells the story of a guy who gets a chance to date his dream girl, only to find it’s not what he hoped. Things start to get a little crazy when he receives a body-switching device from his neuroscientist uncle, and decides to try to use it to make his situation better.
This story is a lot like things you may have read elsewhere. I like to think I’ve put my own Liam spin on it, and managed to say something that is unlike what you get from other writers, but even if it resembles other works, I enjoyed doing it. I wanted to work with some concepts and tropes that you haven’t seen on this site yet. The writing of this story was interesting because I had to grapple with certain decisions, as a writer, that I haven’t quite had to face before. One day I’ll tell a bit more about my experience writing this story and what I hope it all means. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy it.
